Stir-fried Green Bean with Chicken

Picture 1 of 4

Green bean (French bean or string bean) is definitely one of my top three favorite veggies. I like the fleshiness and sweetness of it. It’s so special! A simple dish like stir-fried green bean with chicken is good enough for me to gobble 2 bowls of steamed white rice. Nothing fancy is needed for this dish. Just few simple steps will give you a simple yet appetizing dish.

Another favorite green bean dish of mine is the干煸四季豆 (literally translated as dry-stir string bean). It is essentially a popular dish to be served in most Chinese restaurants and I will order it mostly. I will post the recipe for it next time.

Green Curry

Picture 1 of 4

If you’re not tired of Thai curries, here is another one for you – green curry. I am so into the Thai curries lately after I started off with panang curry and then red curry. The green curry is hotter than panang curry and it tends to be as hot as red curry. The names of most Thai curries are derived by their colors such as red curry and yellow curry. So does the green curry.

The cooking method of green curry is similar as the previous Thai curries. No fancy skills are needed for this dish. You might need to know the right ingredients to go well with the curry. Eggplant is always a good ingredient to go with Thai curries or some Asian curries. I used it in the green curry this time together with green bean. The result was great and it was cooked as yummy as those in Thailand.

Fried Egg with Green Bean

Picture 1 of 4

The fried egg with green bean (also known as string bean or French bean) is certainly one of the many great foods of my childhood. Granny used to cook this from time to time for me and my brother when we were in primary school. We both loved it! Perhaps granny was old, she was only capable to make us some easy and quick foods but well, they were all yummy.

I heart green bean and egg. So both ingredients create a perfect and comfy dish for me. Unlike the long bean, the green bean has a strong texture which makes it extraordinary. It will remain its crunchiness after it has been cooked. In addition, the greenish color of it tempts me to love it so much.

Thanksgiving Green Bean Casserole

Picture 1 of 9

If you are planning to add an extra vegetable dish to your Thanksgiving dinner, you can either make a simple salad or you can try making the Green Bean Casserole. Green Bean Casserole is another classic side dish to serve with the Turkey.

I actually made a simple version of Green Bean Casserole because I didn’t have so much time preparing so many dishes at the same time. The main thing for the Green Bean Casserole preparation is the green beans, cream of mushroom, french fried onions and cheese. You can easily make them ahead of time. See step-by-step guide as attached images and recipe as below.
