Stir Fry Asparagus with Scallops

Asparagus is very low in calorie and sodium as well as zero cholesterol. It can be prepared in a couple of simple ways, you can either blanch them in boiling water or simply pan grill them. You don’t want to cook too long, but just nice to keep it crisp and tender. That makes it a healthy vegetable dish.

Most of the time I will use the simple  pan grilling method to prepare my asparagus with steak.  But this time I have prepared them in more of an Asian style, Stir Fry Asparagus with Scallops.

Sambal Okra

Malay dishes are very famous for hot and spicy food, most of the food is cooked with Sambal. Sambal is a Malay word, which refers to a condiment of grounded red hot chillies. Other ingredients are added based on preferences such as garlic, shallots, lime juice, ginger, galangal, etc for a different taste. Knowing how to prepare the Sambal will help you to master various of Malay or Chinese food.

Sambal Okra or so called Sambal Lady’s Finger is one of the popular vegetable dishes with sambal that goes extremely well with steamed white rice.

ABC Soup

My mom has been telling me to have more soups habitually since childhood because she said soups are great for health benefits with purported rejuvenating and invigorating effects to our bodies. Therefore Chinese love to prepare soup as part of their daily meals as they believe soup contains the essentials of all  the ingredients in it.

One of the scrumptious soups that I grew up having is the ABC soup. It is simple and easy to prepare especially to those who are busy and working fulltime. Besides, it is a helpful and pleasant dish to kids who do not like to eat vegetables.
